Does anyone know if I have to have my vaccinations before I come to Korea or can I get them there? The health department here just gives the routine ones.

Re: Vaccinations
Go to the nearest base and tell them you are going to Korea, they should have a current list of what you should get.

Re: Vaccinations
Check with your immunizations clinic at the nearest base ASAP, as some of the shots that you are given have to be in your system a certain number of days before they really become effective.
Be sure that you and your little one are both up to date on your regular immunizations.. before we came over, both of us also had Hep A shots and typhoid shots,as well. The Hep A is actually a two-shot series, We had one shot before we left, and the other 6 months afterwards. While we were there, little one had to have a TB test, it's required yearly for school. :) Oooh, that reminds me.. we all need to go in and get the TB tests that are required within 90 days of arrival back in the states! :) Almost forgot :) LOL :) If you're not near a base, and your health department isn't able to help you out, you might want to check with your pediatrician, and primary care manager..they might be able to get the shots for you :) Dee :) |

Re: Vaccinations
I am not near a base and the health department won't help me, and my doctor can't help me. That is why I am wondering if I can't just get them once I get to Camp Humphreys.

Re: Vaccinations
I don't see any reason why you can't wait but that's just me. My only concern for you would be that Humphreys seems to be having a shortage of doctors right now. So, in order to get them in a timely fashion you might have to travel a little bit. I'm not sure when this doctor shortage will be fixed. They said they have a couple pcsing, a couple on tdy etc. The nurse that works in the clinic did mention they were trying to get a civilian doctor in though so hopefully it won't be too long.
