Yes you can take it with you wherever you go, or leave it someplace that you know will always be running (mine is at my father-in-law's house in Texas) so that you can get TV whenever you want it.

If you hooked it up in Korea, you would not need to worry about a DVR, but if you hook it up in the states I would HIGHLY recommend getting a DVR to go with it so that you can time delay all of the prime time stuff and actually enjoy watching TV instead of getting all of the weird infomercials due to the time difference.
