Hard to say about braces. Korea has dentists who handle braces, even the "Invisible" ones, but I would wait and get them here to be sure that the same type can be serviced. Don't expect the military to do anything for you in the way of dentistry.

Re: Dental issue for NCS

While we were at Osan, we were able to get my son basic dental care, as in checkups and cavities filled, etc, at the base clinic, but as far as orthodontics, I wouldn't count on it. The orthodontist (and yes, there was only one) was travelling between bases, and was at Osan for a limited time so his appointments were -VERY- limited. Even the CS folks were complaining at town hall meetings, because AD gets priority and the CS families were having problems getting dependent appointments.

If there's any way possible, you may want to wait on the braces til you get back to the States.

Dee :)

Re: Dental issue for NCS

I am assuming that you are covered under United Concordia??? If so, you can check out the website and it will tell you everything that is covered while you are here. I'm pretty sure that braces for children are covered but I can't recall whether you would have to pay up front and then get reimbursed or not.

If you can't find out there just call or email. I had to email them because I couldn't find the information I needed and the response back was just a few days.
