Whats a good time frame?
I would love advice on how long to wait before the kids and I head over after my hubby gets there. I know he will have inprocessing to take care of so from those of you who have traveled after your husband what was a good time frame?

Re: Whats a good time frame?
I would say at least a month. My husband spent 3 weeks at Camp Stanley in-processing and then it took him a week to to get the necessary approval to live off base and find an apartment.

Re: Whats a good time frame?
I'm in agreement with Nearlywild. I think I waited about 5 weeks before the girls and I joined my husband.

Re: Whats a good time frame?
My hubs has been here 3wks and I got here yesterday. I would've rather come with him but that was just because I am terrified of flying. But I agree with the other girls maybe a month or so...

Re: Whats a good time frame?
Honestly, I think a lot of it depends on your husband's job. My husband had a lot of "extra stuff" that he had to do before he could even go to his work place. He started actually working about a week before we got here. As you know there's a lot of stuff for him to do while in-processing. If you come to early that might put too much on his plate. If you wait just a little bit longer then he'll know his way around more and things might go a little bit smoother when you arrive with the kids.
It's all going to be a personal decision. Some people on the forum successfully traveled with their husbands and others of us have successfully traveled alone any number of weeks later. I think it just depends on a lot of things. Whatever decision you make will be the right one for you.
