Shopping other than commissary
I found a nice little grocery store in the ville that I wanted to share. It has some fresh fruit and vegetable, a dairy section, some frozen food, dry goods and household items. It is a very small store but it looked clean and the workers didn't follow you around. Go down the main shopping road in front of the walk thru gate, once you pass Italy Pizza, it's the very next road on the right. The store is a short distance on the left, in front of the Royal hotel. You have to go down stairs, under the building. Another place I like to shop is the Plus Mart that is down the road from the main shopping area. This is a full grocery store. Keep walking past the mall area for about 5 minutes and the Plus Mart is on the right side. It's nice to have a few options that are close by other than the commissary when you need to go grocery shopping.

Re: Shopping other than commissary
Good to see you are getting out and about, and passing on the info! You will continue to find places to explore. After you go around the open air markets, you will find where most Koreans shop, and be able to get wholesale prices if you learn to bargain there. Some local vegetables will then be cheaper than the Commissary. $12.50 watermelons, for instance will be 7000 or 8000won. Soon the Persimmons will be coming in fresh!
