Childbirth Classes at Humphreys?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew if there was any place at Camp Humphreys that offered childbirth classes and breast feeding classes? If anyone has any information on these matters would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!!!

:)

Re: Childbirth Classes at Humphreys?

I just talked to a lady at ACS about this. She said that she was going to try and start some classes like this. I did find out that there is a breastfeeding support group on Humphreys but I don't have the contact number yet. I went to a Newborn class at the ACS here last month but I haven't seen any advertisements on if they are going to offer the class again. They basically went over stuff for after the baby is born. The ACS at Yongsan has a birthing class that is offered every other month. October 20th is the next class. I signed up for that one even though it's so far away because I doubt Humphreys will set up a class any time soon. Plus, by going to that we will be able to tour the labor and delivery rooms and talk to the nurses as part of the class. I really wanted to do that since I will be going to the 121 for delivery. I'll send you a message with the email address of the lady at the ACS at Yongsan in case you want to sign up for that class.

What do they do during this meetings? Can you come if you haven't given birth yet?

Re: Childbirth Classes at Humphreys?

Anyone is welcome, whether you have a baby yet or not...we have had a few coming lately that are expecting their first. Generally, we pull up chairs and talk about what is going on in the lives of our babies. We don't just discuss breastfeeding...it is a great place for new moms to get support. Sometimes there are just two women, sometimes five or more. Babies are welcome too!

Re: Childbirth Classes at Humphreys?

This is definitely something I'm interested in. I'm in the middle of a financial class that is at the same time right. It ends in about 5 weeks, so I should be free then.

OH that would be so wonderful, I hope there is still room!!!! If you could email that to me that would be super great!!!!!!!!! I'm so nervous about everything and I don't know what to expect for anything so that would really help.
