Re: School for Kids NCS
Shelli-
My daughter is in 5th grade at Humphreys. She was able to get in when we were NCS as well as all of her friends who were ncs. People are always leaving so there's no way to know from day to day if there would be space available. However, when school started this year I don't think there were any ncs kids who didn't get in. My daughter is also in student council and they have discussed the issues of moving the 7th & 8th grade to Camp Humphreys instead of Osan. It's my understanding that the only concern is that the current 7th graders in Osan (who would be in 8th grade next year) have already become accustomed to Osan High School and have made friends there. I've heard some people suggest starting the move slowly. Maybe start the 7th graders at Humphreys next year and the 8th graders the following year. Anyways, coming ncs is up to each individual but in my opinion it's definitely worth it. Humphrey's is growing and is a great place...soon to be the best.

Re: School for Kids NCS
My hubby just got some info from the recent town hall meeting; as far as schools go, this was said:
Our base schools are also affected, as Camp Humphries only has an Elementary School, and is just starting a Middle School. Since this is no "school district" set up in Korea yet, no one can be "forced" to attend the school that they live close to, so the Osan Schools will be pretty tight until the addition to the High School and our new Middle School are completed. Those ongoing projects are to be finished by August. But, it could be a while before new Teachers are hired! |
