Re: pets & housing @ Humphreys?

Michelle, where is the park in Anjung-ri? We live off-post with a very energetic boxer, and having a place to let her run would be great! Thanks, Krista

Re: pets & housing @ Humphreys?

Ok, let me see if I can explain this. Turn left out of the walk or drive-thru gate. Follow the curve past OMG and the new playground. Continue going straight through the intersection w/the flashing yellow light. When you get to the end of the street you will be able to turn right to continue on the road or take the left into the parking lot of the park. I hope that makes sense. If not let me know.

We usually take our dog around the back of the hill. There seems to be less people in that area. The hill is built up high but there is flat ground in the middle of the hill. I'm not sure that makes sense at all but we let our dog run up and down the hill and all around the flat area. He has a blast!

Hope that helps!

Re: pets & housing @ Humphreys?

Just an update for anyone reading... we finally got an answer from Ms. Bradford at the housing office (it only took them 3 weeks to respond). We were told that only 28% of CS families get on post housing, so plan to live off post. In a phone call another lade at the housing office told my husband that there is not any housing available for E9's on post. Just love the way the Army rewards commitment (sorry for the sarcasm, this is just extremely frustrating).

She also said that bringing a dog (especially a large dog, let alone 2 of them) is "highly discouraged". When we questioned what people were saying on forums such as this about having pets on post, we were told that you all are wrong, and this website needs to be corrected.

she did say they will supply furniture and appliances for CS families residing off post.

This info is discouraging to say the least. The dogs are part of my family - it's like asking me to leave 2 of my kids here. Korea is looking less and less appealing...

Re: pets & housing @ Humphreys?

I'm sorry you feel like you've hit a brick wall. I don't know what information they're talking about that needs to be corrected on this website. There are dogs on post. Liz has a large dog on post. I have recently heard that they're thinking about suspending pet privileges again because people aren't picking up after their animals. As far as I understood it was a threat that had not been instated yet. It's up to you whether or not you want to bring them. Worst case scenario is that you have to live off post. If that's the case check out Bestville. They're nice and large...4 bedrooms and big enough to accommodate two large dogs.

I don't know if I said this already or not but a MSG that my husband works w/has 3 dogs off post and is happy that it's keeping her from living on post lol.

Good luck=)

See, the people that work there are not even correct, come to my building and talk to all the E9's that live there......Hell we even have a O-6 that lives in our building and a couple O-5's.

As for the 28% that sounds like just a number she through out there...If there is a open family housing unit the CS member will be put in that place.
That is why the army is building these CS buildings to get people back on post and stop spending all the armys money. Remember also that alot of CS people do not have family and those CS people cannot stay on post in family housing.

as for the pets...bring them, your going to have a car, so if they tell you no then you move downtown.....to easy...
