Trying To Find This "Juice"

A few years ago I read a story in the Stars & Stripes newspaper about a new Juice soon to be marketed in Korea. (I believe it was touted as a health drink.)

Anyway, the health drink Juice was to be named something like (and I'm totally serious)

Kimchi Juice

Now that the laughter has died down, hopefully any readers could inform me whether or not this Juice was indeed marketed and is it on the market today.

I have tried unsucessfully for a couple years to find any; asking my Korean co-workers has met with unsucessful results.

Any positive information is appreciated.

Kimchi juice?! Now that is interesting!
Google searches came up with nothing...well, except for this phony pic:

However, with my limited Korean skills I tried my best through Naver.

There is, indeed, a kimchi drink!
"Kimchi Juice made by using Leuconostoc citreum IH22" is probably the only thing written in English on the Korean websites.

However, it is not being sold commercially in the Korean supermarkets...yet. As far as I can gather, the drink inventor(s) is still going through legal stuff to get it patented. As far as I can tell, this kimchi drink is being sold somewhere deep in the countryside (like buying 'super-delicious, country-made' sesame oil) by special order from a company called 베지퀸(Veggie Queen).

Sorry, no luck on finding a seller, though.
I can't say my translations are accurate. Hope shsong21 reads this post and helps us out.

Thumbs down

The Company name probably says it all, as far as I am concerned!
Since 1980! With a name like that, I doubt if they ever patent it!
Arrgh!

That is pretty funny!

I like Kimchee, but only when I am eating something else. I can only imagine it must taste like drinking Tabasco sauce.

Exclamation

Yes, I would imagine it would equate to drinking Tabasco Sauce!!

eddiev9, thank you for posting your picture. That brand name is a definite strange one; Jay Leno poked fun at the name a few years ago.

Since people like eating Kimchi with their Soju, I'm wondering if you could mix both the Soju and Kimchi Juice?

That would probably combine for an explosion "from the tailpipe."
