I'm on my way to Osan in October, and I was curious as to whether it would be cheaper/better to bring a desktop computer with me, or buy one when I get there. Any suggestions?

I guess I could always hit up Taichan for one ;-)

I say bring it also. I can get computer much cheaper in the US when they are onsale.

Bring it. Computers in Korea are not that cheap. They also operate on different power.

The computers in the B/X are just as expensive in the states except they are usually behind 6 months in the technology. Also, you have a limited choice.

I also forgot to mention this good tip. Computers, printers and other related items count as professional gear and don't count against you weight allowance.

Bring one, all finished electronics in korea are stupidly expensives , well except ram....

if you end up living off base just make sure you have a Powersupply that can do both 110/220, i don't suggest using the fake transformers they sell here because they aren't very good
