Re: Anyone ever buy a Dell?
Taichan
Have you tried Partition Magic? I am sure it will resolve the problem.

Re: Anyone ever buy a Dell?
Emchaine makes some great laptops for there price, its why gateway bought them and pretty much closed the laptop part, there desktops are junk
partition magic wouldn't work as then if i need to reinstall i'd have nothing :P once i get the disks, i'll give it a shot |

I am not too familiar with the eMachine. I believe the concept of emachines was too make an affordable sys for everyone. The problem was the PSU that were being used. As I mentioned in a earlier post the foundation of the any PC is the PSU. If the CPU is the brain then the PSU is the heart. When HP was building sys for Walmart they were problematic at best. Prior to this HP had an excellent rep in the IT world. I thought Gateway was dumping the eMachine after a dismal 2 year sales? I see that Wallmart is selling a back to school model for $798. Personally I believe you get what you pay for.

Re: Anyone ever buy a Dell?
Turk...along with my new Dell, I also own a EMachine and I love both of them. I've owned two EMachines now, and I've never had any problems with either one of them.
Good luck!

Dell Parts Availability?
My Dell Inspiron 4100 laptop is in need of an LCD Inverter Board (self-diagnosed). Would this be any easy find and relatively cheap fix in a local computer store? The real question is whether local folks have Dell parts readily available. Or will it be best for me to order the part and then have a local computer geek fix it.
Thanks

Re: Anyone ever buy a Dell?
no, it wouldn't , as systems are all differnet. such as the one in my panasonic wouldn't work in my HP.
you'd have to go to Dell and order the part from them |
