I have old PIII 667 with 192mb RAM its toshiba note book. - its getting old and need minitower computer for my parents.

all I want is light game but more downloading music and little bit of Photoshop.

Can you help what I can afford with $AU 500?
I already have mini tower (not sure if power supply will be compatible with new Mother board), I only need new Mboard, New ram, Graphic card... I think.

I am going to Yong San this thursday to build my own PC... just for looky and to compare prices.
can u recommend any system?

$500, ok you'll need a new Powersupply, even if it would work with the new system you'd be likely to take out the system because the power draw is too high.

PSU: Namebrand is wanted, Antec, Enermax, OCZ (there are overkill for most people though) Fortron (also called FSP)

Motherboard, I'd suggest a Biostar Tforce6100-939
Processor) AMD Athlon64 3000+ to 3800+ or an Athlon64 X2 3800+
ram, 1gb should be good enough for you. for an average user brand doesn't make a big difference

Videocard, ummm the videocard built into the motherboard is pretty decent is you don't want to do a lot of gaming, how ever there is a Full sized PCI-E port on the motherboard which is designed for the latest videocards (which are cheaper then there AGP brothers) so if you want to game more later a few dollars extra will get you a nice videocard.

CPU: AMD A64 3000+
Ram: 1gb of DDR400
HD: 40gb Western Digital, maybe 2 if i can find my other one (would be a freebee)
DVD-rw: 8x Nec ND2500A dvd burner

Are thoses Hard drive ATA? or SATA? can I still able to use my IDE Hard Drive with (support) that mother board?

50,000 won is $50.00 US. Not Sure what $500 Australian would be but i'm sure there is a money convertor somewhere????
