its basically 2 Core 2 Duos built into one cpu.
they're good CPUs and once the price drops and i sell off some old hardware i'll be buying a Q6600, from what i've heard the price is spose to be $266 USD come like the end of the month (or sooner) How ever if your not doing any video encoding, or anything really CPU demanding (and if your gaming and you don't have atleast a 8800gts 640mb) i'd suggest staying away from it as you'll just let the CPU (and cash) go to waste, i'd say get a E6600 or a X6800 if you don't feel like you need the q6600's 4 cores....
