Re: Just Screenshot

continue about Linux........................

You can share your Hard-disk through Internet with linux.
You can use it like some Web hard service.
You can send some file from your office to your home's linux computer.
If your hdd's size is ok, there is no a limits. You know, it has a limit of capacities such as your mail's file appending, web hard service, USB stick memory.
But if you have a linux system, you can send a big size files at your office very safely.
If you have some fire-wall server at your office, you need not worry that.
Because Linux can go avoid its firewall server.
I think Linux is a very great operating system. But its software all free.
Can you belive that ?
So, I love linux. Linux will break down MicroSoft Co.,Ltd. someday.
I hope to that.

Re: Just Screenshot

continue about Linux........................

You can make some forums like here usfk forum.
USFK forum's board program is linux packages. So, it is free.
You only intall this packages on your linux computer.
It is very very simple. If you have a good computer and the good speed internet, you need not some web-hosting like Mike.
You want it you can become some forum's administrator like Mike.
Administrator ! It is not great !

Re: Just Screenshot

shsong21, you have to realize that not everyone that uses computers is a power user as yourself. The problem with Linux is that it's not user-friendly to the normal population of computer users. They have made great strides in making it more user-friendly with derived versions such as Ubuntu and Fedora.

I remember using Linux back in the day and I was very excited about it. It was something new and was very cool to play around with...until, I couldn't configure my Ethernet adapter or my sound card. Now, I'm betting that there are plenty of drivers for it but at the time, troubleshooting those kind of issues was a pain in the butt.

Hello !
oh..It is a good story. I also have a experience such that.
Yes, right. So, many people are thinking very hard about linux because of the problems. As you told, linux couldn't support a variety type's drivers until a few years ago. But, now is not. You can run it on GUI environment like MS Windows. Yes, Linux is a little difficult to learn it than MS windows.
But, If you want a power-user, it will be a good instrument for you.
Have a good day !

Re: Just Screenshot

I disagree with the fact that you have to be a power user to use Linux. By "derived version" are you implying that Ubuntu and Fedora themselves are not Linux? If so, that is blatantly false. It would be more accurate to say that they are flavors; different taste, but same content. The only "flavors" of linux (off the top of my head) that I'd consider to be power user only are Debian, Archos, and Gentoo. On the other hand, I can name no less than 5 that are inherently user friendly: PC Linux OS, Ubuntu, Mandriva, Knoppix, and Lindows (though I'd steer clear of this one most definately).

Anyways, anything your windows box can do, my Linux box could or would hve been able to do (I left it in the states).

Re: Just Screenshot

He's one of those LINUX freaks. If you're going to use UNIX, then use UNIX! Solaris, AIX, SCO, not some stripped down version running on a piece of crap Intel processor. Go buy yourself a used SPARC and run a good version of Solaris, 2.5.1 or better. LINUX is for people that think they know UNIX, but don't.

Hi, friend !
I don't know well what try to say me but All linux products such as fedora, Ubuntu, Mandriva, Sulinux are started from one Linux kernel.
The Linux kernel made by Unix system model such like Free BSD.
All programes of linux are free software by GNU.
Now, Linux operating system is installing on a law price PC, and then those PCs are supplying for the poor person who can't buy a good PC.
You know, Linux can be install on 486 PC and you can access to the internet without some problems.
I think Linux system's potential is very big in the future.
Linux kernel can be loading on your weapon such as Missile, Tank, and it can be loading on all electronic appliances.
Linux Kernel will be loading on some Robots someday, even a stealth bomber ....
Linux has a very strong networking and very efficient operating system.
So, American scientist who have developing for military weapons are studying Linux system.
Hey, friend ! If you are not work in IT industry, You need not know Linux.
Yes, I know that here forume members have no interested in Linux.
Im OK. Never mind !
But Linux users are almost in America. Im afraid, I don't find in here forum.
Maybe, do you have a mobile phone ? if so, your mobile phone has a linux.
We are called it 'embeded linux'.

Wow. You're beyond ignorant. Especially if you consider the fact that linux runs on more processor architectures than Windows does. I am not saying that everyone should migrate to Linux, nor that it's the best thing since sliced bread. What I am saying is that people shouldn't be dishing out misinformation about a system they know nothing about. You are a prime candidate of the type of troll that I'm talking about.

I could argue that Windows is just a GUI'd up version of MS-DOS, and that those who use it are people that think they know MS-DOS, but don't.

Call Linux not your cup of tea, but try doing some research before you bash an OS with ignorant, base-less claims.

Re: Just Screenshot

You confused the hell out of me. Why are you talking about Windows? Everyone know that Windows is the most inferior OS available. I'm talking about the difference between Linux BSD and the System V versions of UNIX. It sounds like you think Soloris is some form of Windows product. Before you call someone ignorant, make sure you don't sound so yourself.
