As for my previous post, what I meant by derived was flavors as you stated. I just couldn't place the word for what I was trying to describe. But, you didn't provide any argument as to why you "disagree with the fact that you have to be a power user to use Linux." Most normal users are incapable of performing a fresh OS installation. I'm sure that there are computers sold somewhere that are preinstalled with Linux, but your normal user would not typically even consider buying one.

And as for your Linux machine being capable of doing everything a Windows machine can do, you will find that there is quite a number of things it can't. I know when I was in college, I had a Linux box but there was issues with loading up certain Word documents for school work since my copy of OpenOffice didn't know how to load up certain elements of the document (created with Microsoft Word). I had to resort using to Windows to get my work done and at the end of the day...I prefer to use a computer that doesn't get in my way.
Also, even though I don't play video games, that's one area where Linux doesn't shine.

I kind of enjoyed the way Envoyrising expressed himself! I am sorry to see him go... But I suppose a person who is so infinitely more knowledgeable about computers than myself can find much better ways to seek enjoyment than commiserating with dolts. I have to stay here and mingle among the less than perfect. Guess I'm just confortable and don't want to change...

They have no car and no mobile phone but they can live there.
I have one American friend who working in Osan AB, he doesn't know about Computer but he is very good person.
He only likes some car and motorcycle. he has Benz and I took his car once.
