"Wonders of the Body" Exhibition
While on the metro coming home from a day trip to Suwon we saw an advertisement
for http://www.sinbibody.com My husband in in the medical field and he has been wanting to see the American version of this exhibit for a long time. When we saw that it was in Incheon we had to go. The exhibition is currently showing at Incheon Munhak Main Stadium, West wing, 1st floor, Special Exhibition Corner. It will be held there until September 3, 2006. They are open from 0930-2000 all week. Individual fee for adults is 10,000 won approximately $10.50. You can take an express bus to Incheon bus terminal. When at Incheon bus terminal, enter the Shinsaegae Department Store to take the underground subway for one station block. Or you can walk the distance for about 20-25 minutes. Or you can take a taxi for about 2000-3000 won depending on the traffic. We took the metro from Pyeongtaek to the Munhak Stadium station. We don't like the bus because you're too restricted to their time table. I think it took about 2 hours to get there. Once we got there, there were signs in English directing you to the stadium. It wasn't very far, less than ten minutes walk to the actual exhibit site. Once you get closer to the stadium there are signs in English directing you to the exhibit. It wasn't too crowded but there were a lot of children. I would say it took us about 40 minutes to go through and see everything. All of the displays are in Korean. Most of what we saw we could figure out what it was by just having a basic understanding of human anatomy but some things we had no idea what we were looking at. I thought it was interesting and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in this sort of thing. When we left the stadium we got back on the metro and went to the the Incheon Bus Terminal station to find something to eat. We went to the Shinsaegae Department Store to their food court. There is a huge selection there for food. I had this large steamed dumpling that had a meat and onion center. Then I had some type of squid and onion spicy stir fry. It came with a soup that is similar to miso soup, cabbage kimchi, bean sprouts and another banchan that I can't remember. Rodney bought this meat on a stick thing. I think it was ham and sausage. Then he bought this Greek style wrap. He wanted it because it reminded him of something he used to get in Germany. They do have a Dunkin Donut and a Burger King if you're in the mood for something American. After we ate we went to the E Mart that is there where we bought some Korean style chopsticks to use at home. Then we got on the metro and came back home. |
