I don't think it's the water because not everything smells like that. As long as we get the stuff out of the machine and make sure nothing is touching while it's drying, most stuff comes out fine, but the towels always smell!

My suggestion is to buy new towels and wash/dry them at the laundry mat on post. Or even try to take your current towels and wash/dry them on post. Air drying just may have its toll on them. It would certainly be annoying to get out of the shower all fresh and clean and have to dry off w/a stinky towel

The towels and sheets are the only things I actually dry on the dryer setting. I also use fabric softener on them. I wash them once a week and during the week, I hang them to dry after they get wet.
