Cherry Blossoms

Are there any places that are accessible by public transportation to see some cherry blossoms? Maybe a festival that is going on? I read that the zoo is doing some type of cherry blossom festival but I don't think they have the information on their English language site. Would someone mind going here http://grandpark.seoul.go.kr/ and telling me if there is any information on the cherry blossoms?

Re: Cherry Blossoms

Yongsan Main Post has an entire street lined with blossoming cherry trees each spring...they are in bloom now.

Chinhae, not far from Busan, has one of the biggest displays of cherry blossoms each spring in Korea

I didn't see anything specifically mentioning cherry blossoms but they had a link to their spring festival which is apparently underway (March 30- April 30) which had pictures of cherry trees in blossom as part of the ad for the festival. They have some cherry trees out there but they won't be in bloom for the entire month. Go soon if you want to see blossoms.

Cool Re: Cherry Blossoms

Yongsan Army Garrison Cherry blossoms could begin by Easter. Not completely out today. We have a lot of photo ops right on post when they bloom.
Grand Park is a short subway ride from gate 1 (Samgakchi Station) I doubt if they are blooming yet. All the Big Parks in and around Seoul will be out soon. When I tell you they are out, you have about two weeks of full bloom, three if you are lucky. Watch for my report on the Yongsan Forum.

Here in Waegwan where it is warmer than Seoul. They are starting to fall off the trees. My whole street is lined with blossomed trees.

If you wait until Easter they will likely be past their peak on Main Post as they are in full bloom now on the trees I have seen on post. They are blooming across Seoul, too. Get out this weekend for some of the best cherry blossom viewing. They will likely be gone within 2 weeks. The yellow forsythias have not hit their peak yet but you can see them too in many places.
