Cherry Blossoms
Are there any places that are accessible by public transportation to see some cherry blossoms? Maybe a festival that is going on? I read that the zoo is doing some type of cherry blossom festival but I don't think they have the information on their English language site. Would someone mind going here http://grandpark.seoul.go.kr/ and telling me if there is any information on the cherry blossoms?

Re: Cherry Blossoms
Yongsan Main Post has an entire street lined with blossoming cherry trees each spring...they are in bloom now.
Chinhae, not far from Busan, has one of the biggest displays of cherry blossoms each spring in Korea |

Yongsan Army Garrison Cherry blossoms could begin by Easter. Not completely out today. We have a lot of photo ops right on post when they bloom.
Grand Park is a short subway ride from gate 1 (Samgakchi Station) I doubt if they are blooming yet. All the Big Parks in and around Seoul will be out soon. When I tell you they are out, you have about two weeks of full bloom, three if you are lucky. Watch for my report on the Yongsan Forum. Last edited by Mr. Joe : 04-05-2007 at 03:10 PM. |

If you wait until Easter they will likely be past their peak on Main Post as they are in full bloom now on the trees I have seen on post. They are blooming across Seoul, too. Get out this weekend for some of the best cherry blossom viewing. They will likely be gone within 2 weeks. The yellow forsythias have not hit their peak yet but you can see them too in many places. |
