May 15: Teacher's day

It's not a national holiday, but it's the day for teachers from kindergarten to doctor's course including coach or mentor in any kind of organization.

Actually many parents of schoolers gave some money to teachers under the table on the day, so some people tried to move this day to a day in winter vacation.
It's controversial but it's a social issue we need to fix soon.

Anyway I used to buy some gift certificate for teachers of my kids, 100,000won per teacher, but one of them(3 teachers) refuse to take it in last year.
Personally I don't think it's a bribery for teacher(I mean 100,000won), but I know that some of you may think it bribery.

My wife want to give them a gift, like cosmetics, fragrances, books, but I think money is better to spend whatever they do.

Once upon a time, my grandmother brought 10 eggs to my classroom to give it to my teacher, yes it's around late in 1960's in Seoul.
Even sometimes it could be ricecake, rivercrab, chicken, or shoes, but it changed to money nowadays

On this day, I'd like to give a call to my mentor whom I met at my first workplace, he's in the late in his 50's.
I'd like to invite him to play golf, but it's not easy to reserve it in this kind of nice season

Please take a minute to send a thanks notes with a flower to teachers near you, or near your kids to encourge their endeavors on their position.
