English language driving directions/road maps?
Hi.
I'm new here. Not a soldier, just a teacher. I've been living in Seoul, but am about to transfer to a better job in Anseong. I've pretty much fallen in with the military crowd since my recent arrival. I want to be able to visit my friends at Yongsan Garrison and Camp Casey after I move, but I don't know the roads very well at all (just started driving, have one of those tiny Korean motorcycles). Are there any places online or any good stores I could go to to get some decent English language road maps? Does anyone know offhand the best road to take from Anseong to Pyongtaek so I can knock bak a few beers with some fellow Americans around Camp Humphreys? Online English language driving directions, some sorta Korean mapquest would be especially helpful if it exists. Haven't found it anywhere on the web, but if it exists somewhere, I figure an online military forum would be the best place to ask. Thanks for listening to my civilian ramblings, and thank you collectively for making South Korea a safe and hospitable place for Western civilians. |

Re: English language driving directions/road maps?
I know you can get the Korean roadmap Atlas at the BX. Maybe you can ask your friend to get you one. I've also seen a Korea Tourist Map all in English. I don't know where to get them though. The guy who has it said he picked it up from a Tourist info desk.

I think it is regular mapquest that works, but someone will fix you up quickly.
I don't think there is more than one road to Ansung! You'll have it figured out soon. Keep off the Highway with that thing! They will fine you! Welcome to the Forum- we can always use experienced members! Good Luck. |
