USFK Forums Groups and Clubs. I need your inputs!
I am looking at starting a "Groups and Clubs" type of feature/forum. Here are my thoughts. This post was inspired by Charlie on this thread.
People living in Korea all have different interests like martial arts, hiking, etc. I would like to starts some public clubs were anyone can join and create. For instance, Charlie may want to create the "Yongsan Martial Arts Club." Another member may want to start a "Hiking in Korea Club." I was thinking of creating a "Clubs and Organizations" forum in the Korea central area. As people post about interests, I will create the club for them. Other members can join the "Group" and be a member of that club. Each member will be allowed to post events into the calendar for meetings. Any thoughts?

I know we need to keep USFK forums on a info base site rather than an adult entertainmet site...but what about a barhoppin club..or something on the same lines. For those that know me for a while...we have a group here based in Seoul called the ROK mongers. Most of these guys hang out in Itawon...and shoot the breeze over anything, but some meet up for barhoppin in songtan. The main get together is in the PI..but i wont discuss what goes on there....matter of fact we are meeting this weekend in Angeles City!! So maybe make a barhopin section if you dont have one already..not really a club..but maybe a group or a section, that can post bar pictures and barhoppin pictures!!

Mavic,
I think that would be a good Idea. Also, I have thought of making a "adult" forum that would only be accessible by adults. It wouldn't be for nude pics and stuff, but it would be so people could really do what they want without worrying about kids reading or viewing.

Thats cool with the adult forum..but when you go that route...alot more disclaimers come into play. USFK forum...could be a major tool in sponsoring infomation for new troops coming to the ROK...to get the real stories and tips from folks staioned there..either good or bad news..at least they are getting the current up to date info. Maybe instead of getting an adult section, maybe add part of your gallery..for club pictures, without the nude...this is when you have to moderate a little bit more. A more website/mongering club type atmosphere...can generate a little more response from our younger troops out there. Most young troops on the ROK..only remeber the SOJU tripps..and the exercises...they either hate it or like it!! they dont remeber the people there, that have shared their friendship and their culture. I've said this before...the ROK is more than a 1 year assignment full of bar hopin and laying in the dirt shooting blanks...its about being a part of history...its not your average assignment....hell you are in a peace time war zone...no where else do you have this type of assignment. Irag and Afganistan are operations which are also known as TDY's..not assignments. This board can become the all around info for Korea...with the politcal side to the fun barhoppin side. Just like clark AB and the Philippines...Tons of folks have been stationed on the ROK...so if your young or old...lets hear your views and inputs on what you gained or didnt gain from being stationed here in korea!!!
