In the interest of fairness here is this person's list of things they like about Korea. It is a longer list than the things he do not like.

Yes, that is what I pointed out earlier. shsong21 pointed out a sub-page of a website. Go to GIkorea.net and you will see he has a ton of interest in Korea and was simply pointing out the bad things.

My Views

We need to recognize that things we do not like do not always reflect on the People in the picture! As for Religious prejudice-NO! That is NOT there in that post!
He doesn't like illegal parking; people staring;cutting in line; impolite driving habits; too much smoking; people walking in the road. I don't like that either!
All these things happen in every country ! Maybe it happens more here because the laws are not enforced as well here-traffic laws especially!
Crowds? Small country + large population=crowds ??

No one is expressing predjudice so far. Just freely saying what he likes or does
not like. It is ACTIONS, not people he dislikes!

I do not fully understand the "Inferiority Complex" photo??

In America all two wheel vehicles must be in the street and obey the same laws as cars (in most states) ! If that is so in Korea, no one seems to care>
Motorcycles seem to go anywhere! I dislike that the most!

[Motorcycles seem to go anywhere!] YES, You're right !
but they don't go to North Korea !
And, we not have "Inferiority Complex" as to Amreica and American !
We are a racially homogeneous nation and Our history is very long than America.
Old days, China domain of half was our a domain. Did know it ?
Old day, Japan was learned our cultures.
Our history never inferior, our history is very great !
Our history never "a gun's history" like America !

I know that we are running into some differences in cultural perceptions here. I am making this post in an effort to stimulate understanding.

shsong21, you wrote:

By your definintion, is this a predjudiced statment?

One thing that can be very frustrating for westerners, is that they can be told by Koreans that their country is dangerous, dirty, and not as good as Korea and they are supposed to accept this as truth, even if the Korean has never lived in America.

Should I consider these statements as predjudiced?

However, if a wersterner mentions even one thing that they do not like, even if they have lived in Korea for many years, it is interpereted as hate or prejudice. Once again, I will point out that the gentleman running the site also had a whole page of things that he likes about Korea, in addition to a lot of information about Korea.

shsong21, I hope you can understand that someone truly can love Korea, even if there are a few things they do not like.

red headed stranger brings up a good point.

I remember in the last summer Olympics, Americans were asked, "not to wave the American flag after their victories because it may offend people."

Only America was asked to refrain from waving the flag. This is starting to be a trend! If Americans act in national pride, they are arrogant and are offending people. But if other countries wave their flag in victory they are just showing their national pride.
