What is your favorite "little known" activity in Korea?

In my opinion, there are a lot of "hidden gems" in Korea. Since I left Korea have have noticed a lot of fun activities i didn't realize existed in Korea.

For instance, many people don't know about the Suwon movie theater and mall that is located at the Suwon terminal. It was one of my favorite places to visit for food and a movie.

Additionally, I had a blast when my friends and I went to the Karaoke center and sang some group songs.

What are some "hidden gems" that you enjoy?

Re: What is your favorite "little known" activity in Korea?

If I find a good spot in Korea I usually only tell one or two friends. I have lots of spots in Seoul, and one really fun area where GIs have never even heard of. The Koreans get really rowdy there too. Street brawls, drunk cuties everywhere. I also know a place near Seoul where the Korean women are unbelievably friendly to foreign men. It's the only place in Korea that I've seen it like that. I don't tell people about my spots anymore. I took a few GIs to Sinchon near Lotte World, and now it's a GI haven with barfights and all.

Ha, ha, ha or I guess I should LOL. Actually that is a well known activity in Korea, though the specific location might not be well known. One of my favorite things to do was go camping. It might not be considered a little known activity but you rarely here us round eyes talk about it. Korea has some of the greatest places to go camping and hiking or fishing. I went with the yobo to many places. I have a hard time remembering all of the names now since I have been away for a few years. Up toward Mt. Sorak there are many good places. The only thing I recommend is that you don't do exactly as many of the Koreans do. I have seen many camping on sand bars and drinking soju all night. That is all fine and dandy,...until it begins to rain. There is a lake not far from SongTan where you can camp out and fish on platforms in the middle of the lake. Some of the old timers that are still there can probably get you there. At any rate, I highly recommend camping trips in the summer. For those of you Osan folks who have never been to Kunsan, I recommend a trip south on the wolfpack wheels to check it out. Book a room ahead, during a non-excersize time. If you can't get in billeting, there is a hotel outside of the base. You can see what A town is all about, an old and somewhat infamous GI bar town. It has gone down hill somewhat from what it once was but, at least you can say you've been there. Its not a family trip, so leave the kids with a sitter.
