Amateur Athletes Chafe at WBC Team Draft Exemption
Looks like the Korean baseball team got an exemption from military service and it has angered a lot of people.

I'm not quite familiar with the criteria or requirements one needs in order to receive an exemption, but my instincts tell me if I were in the shoes of the International gold medalists, I'd be pretty upset, too.

It was the same thing when we had the draft in the US. If you had money or status you were not drafted. Football players usaully had an injury that disqualified them. Baseball players would join the National Guard. Basketball players were either over the height limit or had a past injury. If you were rich you could stay in college until you were to old. I understand in Korea if you are rich it is easy to bribe your way out of it.
