Soap Box Time regarding Mail

Ok ......

First things first I am no spring chicken or newbie when it comes to the finer and not so fine points of the Military Mail system. I spent 4 years in Germany where the mail sysytem was smooth and painless. Seldom did a priority package take more than 14 days regardless of what part of the United States it originated in.

I ordered a PC from a company out of L.A. Cali and the machine shipped Priority Mail and Insured on the 30th of March. It went from LA to San Fran to the sorting center for APO Mail in 2 days. So that puts it into the hands of the military mail folks on or around 1 April. Today is 17 April and I still have not recieved the package here in Osan.

If you ask 50 different people about their wait times and packages you will get 50 different stories..........a few good ones but most bad. Take for example my buddy who just recieved a priority package today 17 Apr that originated in Omaha Nebraska on 10 Apr.

I tell ya what, I take serious issue with the apparent broken ass system that is in place for PACAF mail, I have heard so many horror stories about 40+ day delivery of Priority Mail it makes me sick. There only job is to move the mail thats it.....send and recieve if you get right down to it.

Maybe one of you fine folks from the Post Office career field can tell me why the mail system in PACAF appears broken in so many ways. Espiecially when you compare to the fine , fast , and effiecient USAFE mail side of the house.

Signed waiting on my new gaming rig.....

One, thats what oyu get for ordering a whole computer from people :P and trust me, i waited 3 months for a package before.

normally its 14 days. and its just how it is, our mail is not the most important thing they ship so there nothing we can do about it. I currently have a 30bls case in the mail i don't expect to see till hopefully next friday. (though i hope sooner) its just how the game is played, we don't pay for it so we can't really expect anythig out of it.

Sorry i didn't mean to be rude, and i'm really sorry for my comments.

By the way, should have gone with a Opteron 146 and a DFI motherboard, might better overclocking setup.

On a side note. i just got in 6 packages today shiped on the 10th, 11th and 12th.

4gb of Gskill HZ ram (there currently 6gb sitting in my house) and my WD 250gb RE2 hard drive ^^ from newegg by the way :P

Now if my P180, 7800gtx and AC NV silencer 5 rev3 would just come in! >_<
then just need the Antec Neo HE 500w would come in

NOW NOW, no sence in curseing

You did not give all the information on that it was your friend that built the computer, as far as she knew it was a nobody that built it....She never assumed anything, if your not going to give all the info don't shoot back and say well now here is the whole story and shame on you for thinking that.

I agree, i have gotten packages that took 7 days from Alabama. I have even had a letter mis-sent here in korea and it took 3 weeks just to get back to me saying that it was mis-sent.

The only thing i can think of is that the mail people here are only here for a 1 year period. If you break that down almost 1 month to inprocess, 1 month leave. If they are picked out of the hat to become a mail person that is another school they have to go to. Now comes the clearing and i'm not doing anything mode...which is anywhere from 30-45 days add all that up your only down to about 8 months of actually time, just long enough to not care....and the cycle continues on a yearly basis....germany is a 2-4 year stint..

I cannot say anything about germany as i have never been and i really can't say much (now about Korea) when i leave here it will be a total of 3 years.

I think the problem in Korea is with the kids who comes over here and it is their first assignment, away from home and all. All they do is drink and curse about Korea.....hense the mail system???
