Quote:
South Korea and the United States claimed berths in the women's field hockey World Cup when they clinched spots in the top two of their qualifying pool on Monday.
The Koreans' 5-3 win over New Zealand helped advance the unbeaten Asians and Americans as automatic qualifiers from Pool B with a game remaining.
The United States topped Azerbaijan 4-2. They joined Pool A leaders England and Japan in the World Cup in Madrid, Spain, starting Sept. 27.
Kim Jung Hee and Kim Me Seon scored within 5 minutes of each other early in each half for South Korea to hold down New Zealand, which scored all three of its goals off penalty corners.
