Where do you report foreigners in Korea?

Where do foreigners go in Korea if they have a business complaint against another foreigner in South Korea? I am owed $900 by the mygrooveonline.com owner. I built his site and he hasn't paid me in months and now is refusing to pay me. Instead of visiting him and kicking his ass I figured it would be smarter to report him to the Korean authorities and visit his customers and report his techniques. Any idea?

Also, if you know anyone at the Hyatt or any other businesses in Seoul, you may want to let them know about this guys business practices. I build 5 Photoshop ads for his first magazine and the entire website and he is withholding payment because his magazine is probably failing.

Re: Where do you report foreigners in Korea?

Mike here is what a friend of mine done. He was owed $300, the guy kept saying sure i'll pay you and then it ended up the same way as you.

He just went to a MP budy and the MP called this guy, said that if he did not pay he is going to recommend to have his place of business black listed from all military.

He was paid the next day....

It's an option....espically if he does alot with military.

Re: Where do you report foreigners in Korea?

Chuck,

Thanks for the info. He is Canadian and runs a newspaper that targets English speakers in Seoul. So, their is really no way to hurt him through the military.

Kicking his ass would make me feel better, but obviously that is not an option. I am not that stupid!

What I plan on doing is hurting him where he will hurt the most, with his business. I will be contacting the all of his advertisors and letting them know who they are dealing with. I will also build a Seoul site that will be 3 times better than his. It will be like my Osanguide.com, but much better. Then I will offer the businesses he is working with 1/3 the rate he is charging. He posts a banner each time he gets a news business. I will approach each one and undercut him.

This man is ****y and I have asked him to pay me or he will create much more pain than the $900 he owes me. I will also report him the the Seoul authorities as soon as I find out who is the best to contact. I have all the e-mails with him promising me payment.

I learned a valuable lesson dealing with this guy. Trust no one and require all money up front. It may cost me $900, but it is a good lesson to learn. He is not the first to stiff me, but the last.

Mike

Cool Re: Where do you report foreigners in Korea?

But, Mr. Shsong, English is the language of International Trade!

Two percent sounds small. But the US is the largest exporter in the world at this time!
