watch your volunteering
Hey I've been away a while on a vacation and my system crashed. Not sure if this affects y'all but Korean immigration is cracking down on people who things not specified in their visas this includes playing music in clubs, volunteering in orphanages etc.
Back in December a group of univ teachers we now call the "Busan 9" put on a play satarizing life in Korea etc. When a Korean was "offended" by the play, the foreigners were taken to immigration for questioning because apparently putting on a play, playing music in a bar even volunteering in an orphanage without permission from Korean Immigration is violation and can result in deportation. The teachers have now had their visas not renewed by immigration resulting in them having to leave the country some after more than 10 years here working at universities just for putting on a play. You can read about this more on Daves ESL Cafe. |

Re: watch your volunteering
That is seriously messed up! I can understand not doing things that might generate income, but a PLAY? What the hell was the harm in that?
