Dangerous Seoul Station - falling down the escalator

Probably the worst thing that can happen is falling down an escalator that is going up! At least it was not a stair version!

Exclamation Re: Dangerous Seoul Station - falling down the escalator

Ouch!
Since I didn't see the source, and the announcer and sign are Japanese, I can't be sure where the reference to a "Seoul station" comes in. Has anyone seen treads like those in a Korean subway?

Anyway, be careful in the subway-fingers can be lost! I saw the revolving door at the Dragon Hotel catch a child's shower shoe and toe one day!

Re: Dangerous Seoul Station - falling down the escalator

During the second half of this clip, it mentions the expression "ten-ra-ku ji-ko" (轉落事故) which in Korean is spelled "전락사고" and means an accident where someone falls down (with the "down" meaning that you fell not only down to the ground, but you literally fell down something such as a hill or a stairwell).

You also here the expression, "ji-tsu wa." This is the Korean version of "사실은" (事實은) and it means "in fact" and is used the same as in English when starting a sentence where you are about to say something factual. However, the Japanese only use the second character in this word ~ "ji-tsu" is Japanese pronounciation of "실" and "wa" is the equivalent of the particle "은."

It finishes by saying (in an indirect quote) that this isn't the first time an accident like this has happened on a coaster.

wow...feel sorry for the dude! you know in regards to subway stations...especially here in Korea..Ive seen alot of strange things...Ive seen a sucide, robbery, assualt, and attempted rape...crazy..and i dont take the subways all the much! But dont let that discourage you from taking the subways here in Korea...because we have one of the cleaniest and safest subways in the world...now trying to navigate for tourist might be kinda of hard, due the language.
