Hello all,

I don't know if there is a thread for this already. However, I was wondering if anyone knew of a quality beauty salon. I'm in dire need of a hair cut and I haven't heard anything good about the one the BX. If you know of a place or of a thread with this information already available, it would be great to hear from you. Thanks!

Recommending stylists is always such a difficult thing, because everyone has different expectations, likes and dislikes in what they look for in a good stylist, and sometimes, let's face it, a stylist can do a great job one day, and have a crappy day the next and not do so well...so take this as merely my notes and my experience :)

I actually had very good luck with Mrs. Yi in the Osan BX beauty shop, and I know many of the teachers at the DoDDS school patronize Mrs. Cho there. Mrs.Cho is supposed to be an amazing colorist, by all reports, and judging from a couple of pictures on display in the shop, she was either featured as a model or stylist in her day... and Mrs. Yi was very personable,and good at taking what I was telling her I wanted and interpreting it into a good cut.

I don't know that I'd trust one of the other, younger girls with the hair cutting duties, but if you request Mrs. Cho, or Mrs. Yi by name, you should be okay. The other girls are great for manicures, pedicures,and waxings, however.

Basically, if you're looking for a big city, big name salon experience in Korea, I don't think you'll find it anywhere around Osan or Songtan....but you can get good service and good cuts with the right stylist at a decent price.

My wife was here over a year before she finally broke down and chanced getting her hair cut. She did her research like you and ended up going to Ms. Yi at the Osan beauty salon. She took a picture of the hair style she wanted and Ms. Yi cut it to perfection. Needless to say, my wife was quite pleased with the results. Another option is to check out the Dragon Hill beauty salon. That was my wife's second option for getting her hair done.
