I know that this is not going to help me right now as I am already a victim of theft. My wallet has been stolen and I have lost all my important documents that even included my financial details. I fear that they may be used to make my accounts drain. I have already taken the necessary steps for this but this is going to be a real danger in future as it is sometimes too late and by that time everything is gone. I wanted to know that if there are any pre-steps that we can take in case of wallet theft?

GO straight to the nearest military base or Korean National Police station and explain your situation, get this documentated on paper by a public/government authority.

This will help you if in the years to come you are actually a victim of fraud.

Just to make sure, cancel all your credit cards/debit cards, your bank accounts and inform all the above why you are doing this. Also get there names and company ID number and time and date you talked to them for future reference.

Call all the Credit reporting agencies:

Experian
Equfaix
Transunion

Put a fraud alert on all your credit reports so this is documented also.

You can also FREEZE your credit reports... almost the same as a fraud alert but NOBODY can even check your credit report to attempt to give you credit....

Do it as fast as you can, so down the road you have a paper work trail to support yourself if you have to go to court...
