Re: any prevention against identity theft
The very best way to prevent identity theft is guard your identity. Pay off and get rid of credit cards. Use cash and a checkbook. Use a credit union, which will give you more interest on checking accounts than a bank. If you send your paycheck there, most will allow you to get cashier's checks for free to mail to creditors. Never get a debit card. Thieves love them! I found out, from a hotel clerk, that they don't really need to use your private pin number to get money from the Card. Your bank will pay the hotel anyway! Mine did.Surprise! (Never get a debit card and you can never lose it.)
Don't put your social security number anywhere on the internet. Unless you are dealing with your job, or the IRS, give them another number, like a driver's license number. Click "Identity theft + prevention" on Google. ![]() |

How do you prevent ID theft from someone who has the same exact name as you?

If you are Kim, Pahk (Park) or YI (Lee, Rhee), You had best get your name changed, or (if female) marry a foreigner!

Re: any prevention against identity theft
It’s quite necessary to protect your financial details and nowadays it’s becoming a practice to make things secure due to the increasing thefts. I had recently heard about services that keep your identity locked. They help you to protect your private information so that you can be relaxed about them being used to your loss. It’s a good way to make us feel at home about out things in spite of us using them in public. I believe that your question will be satisfied by this and you can make your self updated by taking the necessary steps.

Re: any prevention against identity theft
When it is all said and done, their is nothing you can do to really protect you identity.........
You can pay cash all you want, not have a debit card, not have a credit card. Just look at how many times in the last 10 years a service members SSN# has been stolen/compramised or what ever you want to call it.. The only really thing you can do is check your credit report on a daily basis. YES, I mean check your credit report EVERY day or week....this is the only way you can truely make sure nobdy is tyring to use you name or SSN# to get credit under your name. Their are certian things you can do, lifelock.com If anyone needs anyother type of help, feel free to PM me...
