Local store (Online Shopping?)
I tried to do a search but didn't find much. I was curious if there was any good korean websites that you can order from and have it shipped to you like I used to do back in the states (ie: Target, Walmart) that are in English as well?
Mainly wondering because I've went to a couple Markets here and I just feel so rushed through them without really having a chance to look at much. And also because I just ordered a LOT of clothes for my daughter from walmart and target and of course there is no telling when it will be here.

Re: Local store (Online Shopping?)
Hey girl20racer, my wife has been here for 2.5 years; myself 1.5 years. We've found its better to order from the States or a states side company than trying to shop the Korean online ads. One thing you need to be careful of is sizes. What you get online might not mathch the height and weight of your child. If shopping downtown, ask if you can try the clothing you want to purchase on your baby. If it fits, get a size larger. Personally, we only buy socks and odds and ends (hats, gloves) on the economy. Otherwise, we use stores that will ship to an APO/APE address for pants, shirts, etc. The BX/PX only offer a select choice of toddler clothes and seem to focus on girl clothing. We usually go through childrens place, old navy, zappos, etc....
Hey, just my experience and opinion. I wish you and your hubby and kid(s) the best of luck while here. |

Re: Local store (Online Shopping?)
Ahhhhh, gotcha. Glad you brought that up, didn't even think about it.
I'll just keep on shopping with the stores I know online from the states. Thank you for your response!

Re: Local store (Online Shopping?)
Just in case if you want to shop on Korean online stores....
Gmarket ( http://www.gmarket.co.kr/ ) is always a good place to shop online. They do have an English section for non-Koreans. Their shipping is usually1-2 days. My wife buys too much shoes and clothing from here, but I am very impressed with their service and the quality of the products(from what my wife has been telling me that is)... The size can be an issue as Shadow421 stated, but on this site they have the size table for your convenience. It's is in the following order (size(in korean "호")-age-height(in cm)-weight(in kg). Please keep in mind that Koreans have different age system than the US. For example, when a baby is born they are considered to be a one year old. So the best bet would be computing with your child's height and weight. Once you figure out the size, I am sure the next shopping would be simpler. Ah, don't you miss Marshalls and TJ Maxx......they had the best selections for girls. |
