In the late '80s I lived in a place like that - in Huamdong outside Gate 20. But that was back when they didn't pay you enough OHA to live in a highrise - and houses were much cheaper. Pretty much the only people living in highrises then were LTCs and up. But now everyone gets enough OHA that they can live in a highrise. When I lived in that house, parking was a nightmare. There were way more cars than there were parking spaces. I could go on and on about the pros and cons of highrise living vs house living, but I think it's much better in a highrise.
