Our new President, Mr.Lee and his govt. is at a CRISIS now.
Becuase he negotiated with American govt. humiliating for U.S. beef imports.
A lot of Korean citizens taking an active part in the counter-demonstration in all over the country.
Korean new President, Mr Lee, his approval rating is the worst now.
I look like he doesn't know well about Korea polictics because he is from an enterprising man.

I think it was Friday or Sat... I remember getting an email about it to avoid the area.
I can understand from an economic view why most Koreans do not want US beef imported, it's usually cheaper but they claim US beef is diseased which is untrue so that part makes me mad. Protest it based on fact, not speculation.

We just want renegotiate with America because it is a stupid negotiation.
We were disappointed to him. He and his govt. tried to deceive us.
Now we can see the truth and share it through internet.
So, Internet's power is really amazing. We are no more deceived like the past. If our purpose the same, we can unite. It is just Korea's power.
So, we call 'Dynamic Korea' . Our country is still young.

I'm all for Koreans defending their domestic beef industry, but I have to agree with the person above me "navgirl", I'm really mad about the rumor that our beef is diseased or that we're shipping over only old cows (both which are untrue). Cows aren't born old... it would actually be very expensive to hold on to cattle until they were old just to use for food. I grew up in Oklahoma and actually know a fair bit about the cattle industry. Be upset that it's a bad negotiation or because it might harm the domestic beef industry, but stop with the crap that it's bad/diseased beef.

I was in Korea way before US beef was banned and I remember how much Koreans enjoyed the cheaper US beef. I think it's crazy that these false rumors are being generated and an attempt is being made to damage our industries image. The population in the US is what... over 300 million now and we've gone without anyone getting mad cow disease from beef... for now long now? Oh yes... FOREVER!

Anyway, I hope this ends peacefully and mutually beneficial. Maybe if the Koreans will accept cheaper beef, we can finally get cheaper Korean food goods imported here in the US. I'm tired of paying big bucks for Korean food here! :P My fault for leaving Korea I guess... I'm addicted to all Korean foods! :)

Umm...I look like you don't know well your beef.
Most of countries don't import like this beefs which have more 30months age.
But we decieded its import. For example, Japan, they are also prohibit them completely. So, why are they do like that ?
Because they don't believe your beef's stability. Mr.Lee said like you, 'Please, believe U.S. beef ! It is really safe ! '
Most countries are importing less than 30 monts beefs, you know.
But our great govt. accepts like this, ' Yes, We are ok, we will import your all kind of beefs ! ' ' We believe you absolutely '
But you know, we are no longer a stupid. And also, Korea's intellectuals don't believe your govt. absolutely.
So, we are going out the street to tell our thought include students, employes, housewifes, etc....
It is our democracy, you know. We can push out his govt. , if we want that.
It is our power and Korea's power.

toddashi, is completely correct in what he is saying. You insult most anyone that you can and then when we try to explain to you you get all defensive.

As for the beef situation, in America...we have the strictest regulations I know of, do I know them all....nope....

I do know that if an inspector found meat in the United States the way the the Koreans keep there meat (sitting out, not keeping it cool and other things) that United States inspector would close that shop down in the United States and get fined thousands of $$$$ for not keeping his shop in regulation..
