Who are you trying to kid, yourself or others? The U.S. only send its military where there are economic or political advantages to use its power. For instance, the continent of Africa….Rwanda….100,000s of people killed with hatchets and machetes…yet no American military…now Sudan…(talk about the war on terror, does anyone in the U.S. even keep up with Sudan) and 100,000s dying yet no American military. And we can look beyond that as well. Even in our own hemisphere, look to the South boys and you will find “real” dictators and “real” crimes on humanity.
We (yes, the U.S.) is an imperialistic nation. We go somewhere, “liberate” the people who never asked to be liberated, but initially are very happy to see us, then tell them everything to do and how we will use their resources. That makes a good friend of them now doesn’t it?

Mike, dude, I won’t even quote you and use your own words against you. But man, you really need to watch something other than the “fair and balanced” network. Bush and Carlyle Group make way too much money off of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to take them over. Then they would loose money to the American government and American people. And what about the pipeline that runs from the Caspian Sea through Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan then into the Gulf of Oman? Think there is any money made off of that joint venture between the Bushies and Hamid Karzai?

Aware,

Welcome to the forum!

The U.S. is the #1 contributor of aid to the world. That is true for governement aid and private donations.

Here are some statistics for you. The U.S. is the largest giver of foreign aid in the world. Last year the U.S. gave $19 billion in foreign aid. That is up from $15 billion in 2003, and $13 billion in 2002. Do you know who the second largest giver of aid was? Japan at almsost $9 billion. We gave DOUBLE the #2 guy!

Now what other countries will tell you is that WE give more per GNP, meaning they give more per person. That is crock! Not a single country gives more than 1% of their GNP. Norway lead the world at giving 0.87% of their GNP, where the U.S. gave 0.16%. We gave $19 billion while Norway gave $2.2 billion.

So, ask yourself this. You are the mayor of a starving villiage in Somalia. A Norwegian gives you truck of rice and an American gives you 9 trucks of rice. Who do you think the Somalian mayor was helped by more? The guy that gave more per GNP or the guy that have you 9 times more rice?

The Europeans love to say, "we give more per GDP" because they lead in the GDP statistics. You always use the stats that make you look good. But overall, the U.S. gave more aid than Japan (#2) and France (#3) combined. Take a look at this graph:

Looks like someone is a Michael Moore fan. Hey, here is some trivia. Who was the largest sharholder of the Carlyle Group at the time? George Soros, one of the founder of moveon.org. There are so many holes is Michael Moore's arguments. I need to get fair and balanced? Stop watching Michael Moore and I will stop watching Fox News. If say you are fair and balanced, read this:

It was written by a Democrat. :)

Ok, I just figured out something. Aware and Ivorie are either the same person or using the same computer. I hope they are husband and wife because I don't allow members to have multiple IDs on here.

Ivorie and Aware please explain because you both have the same IP address. I don't mind husband and wife teams or roomates, but I don't like members signing up with two accounts. I am off to bed, please let me know through PM or here.

what makes you think that the U.S. made any certain impact in either of those wars? Check the stats and them history. Both wars were decided prior to the U.S. entering into decisive operations.
Are you joking? So, in World War II, the U.S. landing on Normady or dropping two nukes on Japan had no impact on the war? Or how about Patten taking North Africa or Sicily? I would say by your comments that you need to do some reading on World War II because without two nukes on Japan or the U.S. taking Iwo Jima, Japan was no way near giving up.

Are you saying Hitler and Japan was already defeated before 1941? I had to rub my eyes and read your statement again.

Even before we entered the war the supplies we were sending to England were the only thing keeping them from falling. Why else were the German U-boats sinking our supply ships? Because they were having no effect?

I would suggest you typr in world war II in Google and read up on the US's impact on WWII.

Wow...thanks to the Ivoire/Aware clownshow for killing the last vestige of actual debate on this thread.

This person is clearly just trying to get a rise out of everyone else reading the board. I wouldn't be surprised if they were on some other board making the opposite argument (I use that term loosely) to get folks riled up.

To paraphrase Billy Madison, we are all now dumber for having read this thread.

usinkorea,

Are my comments "childish", "middle school", "jingoistic"and "weak" only because they are different from yours "grown-upish"?

How long have you been talking on this forum?
It's time to learn how to use tags. Quote tags, for example, help a reader separate your sentences from the ones you quote; they also give an idea about the authors of original comments.

Thank you for enlightening me about Google.

So that you would know: I am not good at American slang. It's rarely taught overseas.

Every American knows the answer to this question and makes sure the others know too.
What would you think of me if I donate $100 bucks to an orphanage and then would use media to make sure everybody knows about that?
Do you know I have donated $100?
Do you remember I am the one who donated $100 to an orphanage?
Do not also forget that that kind of aid is beneficial for donors.
My answer is: I don't know. I am not sure it's the US.

Which country has the #1 visa requests?

Germany, Switzerland, Japan, France and - so that your question is not left without answer - the US.

Which country invented the internet and most other invention used around the world?
Let me correct your question. Which country used Indian and Russian IT engineers to invent and develop the internet or Which country benefits the most form getting scientists from the rest of the world to work for it?

I didn't mean to sound THIS anti-american. Little later when I am back I will explain why.
