What is your favorite Korean food?

I love the beef ribs and Kimbop!

The beef ribs are pretty expensive, but they are the leaner meet compared to the Beef Bulgogi. I love cooking the beef ribs on the grill with hot coals. Kimbop is a great lunch if you are in for a light, inexpensive meal.

The great part of Kroean food are all the extra side dishes that you get. Each Korean restaurant has their own special side dishes and I love trying new restaurants.

What is your favorite Korean food?

Here is a Beef Bulgogi recipe if anyone is interested!

Beef Bulgogi

1 pound beef flank steak, sliced into 1/2-inch slices
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup sesame oil
2 cups soy sauce
1 T chopped garlic
1 T chopped fresh ginger
1/4 cup green onion, thinly sliced into small pieces
Crushed red pepper, to taste
1 T snipped chives

Season the beef with salt and pepper.

In a mixing bowl, combine the oil, soy sauce, garlic and ginger.
Season with crushed red pepper to taste. Add green onion.

Place the meat in a shallow bowl. Pour the marinade over the meat.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight. Remove and
bring to room temperature. Remove the meat from the pan, reserving
the marinade.

Place the marinade in a saucepan, over medium heat. Bring to a boil
and cook for 6 to 8 minutes or until the mixture reduces by 3/4.
Remove, set aside, and keep warm.

Grill the meat for a couple of minutes on each side, for medium rare.
Lay the strips of meat on plate. Drizzle the sauce over the meat.
Garnish with chives. Serve with white rice.

Oh, how can you just have a few favorites? There are just too many good foods and different moods to enjoy them.

Generally, I favor the 'meat-full' side of Korean meals (like those types of "meat houses" you have pictured)...the one where the majority are meat. I don't particularly favor those foods or stews with very little of the meat and 85% vegetables (like chunks of green onions, raddish, etc.), know what I mean?

Shsong21,

I also love that! Bee Bim Bob was the first Korean food I tried on the airplane over! It can be very spicy. It tastes great and is good for you.

Bibimbap! Awesome! Especially "dohl soht bibimbap" where it comes sizzling to your table at the restaurant! I always thought the spicier the better. :)

The Korean barbecue beef grilled over coal...the best stuff on earth; just makes your breath stink of garlic all day long!

Ahh! There is one food I found good. "Soon Doo Boo"! Normally, Tofu is very disliked by "westerners", but this particular one, I like very much.

I also like Galbi Jjim very much.
And guht-juh-ree kimchi...kimchi-jjigae...hae-jang-gook (ox blood stew!)
And Gohm Tang...jab-Cheh...bindae-dduk...soon-deh...

As I mentioned earlier...its hard to have just a few favorites!

I'm so hungry now!
아! 배고파!
