Anyway, I always ran the green line (both of them) and they were always a welcome ride because they were much cooler than the outside air. The seats fit me fine too and we are about the same size (I'm 6'4" / 220). What's offensive to me and my culture (people staring you down) is just life and the culture in Korea... people don't really mean any harm by it. I got stared at from day one 4 years ago until this day and these days I don't even notice it... I just gave up on caring about it and I felt a lot better. The only thing that still pisses me off is when people stare at my gf rudely (usually the old korean females disapproving of our relationship) or if someone says something stupid to her like "your boyfriend is a foreigner" as if she didn't already know that.

I however find that far and few between in Seoul... mostly when I arrived in Seoul I had a westerners mindset I guess you could say and I sort of perceived or understood situations in a negative light... when in reality they were not negative... more just neutral. My best advice to you is to not worry about people looking at you when you take your jacket off... leave for work a bit earlier (and maybe leave a bit earlier?) as to avoid the super high peak subway traffic and lighten up and embrace my favorite Korean pastime... SOCIAL DRINKING!! =) You'll be much happier and that's the most important thing to remember bro.
