Exclamation Joining the reserves in Korea- HELP!!!

I am a national guardsman here in the US and I am planning on moving to Korea in August.
It is plainly obvious there are no national guard units in Korea. However, there are US AR units at Humphreys and possibly at Camp Walker or Henry.
I am in a peculiar situation: I am serving out the remainder of the time I had from when I was on active duty (about 3 years) and the retention person at my unit said that because that is the case, I could just talk to the Reserve laison NCO in Korea and just pick a unit to join and go through the formalities like the medical and admin stuff at Yongsan.

Is this the case???
In the absence of a national guard unit, is it possible to be picked up by the reserves?

I am a lower-enlisted and I know I have to tell my unit about the move, but I got a really cool job in Korea and I really want to take it.

So, any and all information would be awesome.
Thanx in advance......

A Bientot!
