Re: Camp Red Cloud Deactivation Debunked !
I went up Friday night to Red Cloud for the Signal Battalion's hail and farewell
party. the 552nd up there works for the 41st at Yongsan. We had a nice time and surf & turf at Mitchell's on Post. CRC just opened a brand new larger Front Gate, (Funded entirely by the City of Uijongbu) and there is no real sign of "Deactivation". I think that must mean it is no longer a headquarters, and some funtions may have moved to Casey. You can't tell any difference that is physically noticeable. It is a very comfortable area in an up and coming town. I lived there 30 years ago, and would go back now in a heartbeat. Uijongbu is now just a suburb of Seoul, with skyscrapers and 25 story apartments going up all around! New highways under construction in all directions, even one to the East coast!
