It’s time for servicemembers in South Korea to dust off their cowboy hats, prepare their poker faces and memorize the words to Kenny Rogers’ “The Gambler.”

Better Opportunities for Single (and Unaccompanied) Soldiers is hosting a Sept. 8 Han River cruise, featuring a gambling-boat theme. But you’d better hurry. Registration deadline is Tuesday. Participants will get chips for making bets.

BOSS program manager Robert Lattanzi said winnings can be traded for prizes at the end of the night. Participants are urged to dress for the gambling-boat theme, and prizes will be awarded to the best dressed. No jeans, shorts, tank tops or tennis shoes are allowed.

Lattanzi said the annual cruises are popular. Tickets are $25, but those in outlying areas might have to pay an extra $5 to $10 for transportation.
