3.5% pay raise, miltary budget signed
Looks like our pay raise of 3.5% will happen.
![]() Not too happy about this though for military families. Both chambers also blocked Pentagon efforts to increase Tricare co-pays to help defray rising medical costs.

If I'm not mistaken, the effort that was blocked would have increased the out of pocket co-pay that retirees, and Tricare standard subscribing members are responsible for, meaning more out of pocket costs for those military families. Basically, the block kept the co-pays at the same level they have been, instead of the cost rising. The Pentagon had suggested the increase in co-pays to ease the rising costs of medical coverage in the military budget, not the average military family's budget. Again, I might be mistaken in my interpretation, but I believe this may actually be a good thing for military families. Dee :) |
