When I was a young private, I was much more inclined to do something stupid than when I was a senior NCO. And I think the same could be said about a good majority of servicemen and women.

So I would be inclined to agree that, yes, rank does equal the ability to stay out of trouble.

I'm looking at it like another stepping block toward making a Korea tour more like other overseas tours. Adjusting the curfew now for a few would eventually lead to adjusting or maybe eliminating it for everyone . Hopefully anyway.

No, rank just means (in this instance) that you are better at not getting caught...becasue you've been doing it longer...

Either way, we will see what GEN Bell decides. If he gives all officers a longer curfew then you will see alot of complaints.

You're still doing the same stupid things you did as a private - and the only difference now that you're a Senior NCO - is that you don't get caught?

I'm not going to argue with you about it, if you say it does not happen then you are wrong.

When we were on general order #1 (no drinking) during an excercise before it was lifted, it was amazing to see all the higher ranking people in pictures drinking?

The question I posed to you can be answered with a simple yes or no - but you chose not to answer. Why is that?

You say you saw pictures of senior people drinking, and these pictures were supposedly taken during an exercise? That's the best example you have to prove your point that senior military members act just as irresponsibly now as they did back when they first joined the military??

With regard to senior military members acting irresponsibly, I never said "it does not happen." I did say, however, a good majority of those who reach a senior rank mature and act more responsibly than when they first joined the military.

Scenario:

You send two groups down to the ville for a night of drinking. One is comprised of ten PV1s and the other is ten SGM/CSMs. Members from which group are more likely to do something stupid?

Same scenario, but switch PV1s for O-1s and E-9s for O-6s. Members from which group are more likely to do something stupid?

According to you, the senior military member will act just as stupid as a junior military member - but the senior member won't get in trouble because he/she is "better at not getting caught...because (he/she has) been doing it longer."

I say the reason why the senior member doesn't get caught acting as stupid as the junior member is because he/she isn't nearly as inclined to act stupid to begin with.

I do think there are some Higher ranking that get into trouble. But I feel that the higher ranking or more likely to have families here and less likely to get into trouble.

I think it should be E-5 and Below for enlisted and O-3 and below for Officer.
