Moutain Bikes (TREK)

Are any mountain bikers out there?

I want to know what kind of mountain bikes Yongsan or Osan PX/BX carry? I am looking for TREK 3900 or 820, 18". (both are for beginners.) I found a TREK 3900 in PX here in Belgium but it was 21". 3900 should be around 300 bucks and 820 for 280 bucks.

Any info on mountain bikes at PX/BX in Korea would be much appreciated.

Re: Moutain Bikes (TREK)

I know Humphreys and Osan have custom bike shops on post. I'll check here at the hump but I know i've seen the 3900 here before, they also have some beginer Gary Fishers.

Re: Moutain Bikes (TREK)

Just my opinion here, but...

I owned a Trek 8000 back in the 93 timeframe and it was the worst mountain bike I ever owned. Wheels would have to be trued after every ride, headset stripped out three times, bottom bracket ended up breaking. I quickly sold it and purchased a Specialized S-Works MTB frame, which turned out to be the best bike I've ever owned.

There is a pretty good shop out the main gate at Osan, and his prices are pretty good to. I think the name of the shop is Jack Bicycle, it is to the right out the gate, down a block or so.

Re: Moutain Bikes (TREK)

My husband bought the 820 at a little bike shop right outside the walk thru gate at Humphreys. I have no idea how much he paid for it though.
