Itaewon Is Dead
Lets Just Go Ahead And Make Seoul Off Limits And Lock Everyone Down On Base. Many people have had ruined careers because of curfew violations. There wasn't a curfew before. Why create a rule that ruins peoples careers? Many officers violate curfew. Many USFK members violate it. Drop the curfew and there will be less incidents. No curfew violations and people will not drink as fast. The curfew system is making people miserable.

I hear they are making changes, but I suspect the young bucks who are the best at making fools out of themselves will not be pleased with the changes.
We will get the word soon. RHIP is the rumor. |

Re: Itaewon Is Dead
Gen. Schwartz made the curfew. It started with him. If you remember the curfew started right after 9-11 and has been around ever since.

Re: Itaewon Is Dead
Punished? No. But I still see a sh!t load of people acting stupid and there is an NCO there just saying nothing.

Re: Itaewon Is Dead
I agree with you DrWorm, we should not be punished but we are.....
We are the ONLY overseas assignment that has a curfew? All the rules and regulations need to be re-looked at. Something that happened 5 years ago is no reason to continue without re-looking. The reason there is a NCO standing next to his budy while they are doing something stupid downtown is becasue they are BUDDIES, they come into together 1st duty station and in a matter of 2 years or less they are an NCO and his budy maybe promotable but non the less promotable....This paragraph can be another whole thread....

Re: Itaewon Is Dead
I agree that we should not be punished from misfortunated events in the past...But this is Korea, this is the way it always has been and will be...This is the duty station in the Army that operates differently than the rest of the Branch.

Re: Itaewon Is Dead
Don't you think curfew is better than base lock down in case something bad happens? See Japan recently.
