Re: ROK millitary service- Info please

ugh why didn't anyone point this out sooner.
there are much better positions than a stinking KATUSA slot.
I'll try and get you into CFC slot. email me your vitals . ie. name, etc.
it might not be too late.

Re: ROK millitary service- Info please

First of all thank you BOB for the all the e-mail and your help. :)

G'day all,

there might be some silverlining in black clouldy sky... (lol U know what I mean :p)
Right now I am trying to extend my enlistment date for another month, so that I can apply into KATUSA which will be held on 9th of Sept until 19th same month.

anyway I want to know what are my chances that I am able to work in MEDICAL eg.MEDIC once I get into the KATUSA.

Can I pick what area I can work in or there is no option.

I am qualified for medic (or at least working in the hospital) I have 6yr of university biomedical degrees.

can some one tell me please.
if I can apply to medic what process does it require?

Thank you all
Joe from downUnder :)

The last I had heard (about a year ago) the KATUSA assignments were randomly selected by computer somewhat taking into account your language test scores and previous training. You would probably not be guaranteed a Medic assignment, at least the way the system was explained to me by COL Kim, the previous ROKA Staff Officer/former OIC for the KATUSA program, but you would stand a better chance than someone coming in with no medical training or background. Good luck and let us hear how things progress!

Joe!
Congratulations. I know that's a far better thing than ending up an infantry stationed in Dongducheon
