Well I can think of cellular and tissue damage when a tourniquet is applied. Lose of limb and needing to released in surgery w/i an hour I believe come to my mind. Unless I missed something in the article to contradict this, in my mind it would still be a last resort intervention.

A tourniquet is always a last resort as you will loose the limb. I think this tourniquet simplifies the process and that is it.
