Hashing in Korea

Most Hashing is done off post. American soliders are suppose to also be "American Amb ass adors" while overseas. Do you think that USFK should put out a policy to limit Hashing only to on-post? (of course some high ranking officers and family may be upset when rudely awaken on a
Sat morning when a bunch of drunk, loud, profane runners come by their home and wake them up - who cares if this happens off post)

Re: Hashing in Korea

USFK can't control what it doesn't own. Believe it or not, most hashing is done by non-military types, and it's done all over the world. Now, they COULD say that we can't participate any longer, but really...what would be the point. I mean, what's the difference between the noise levels of cadence calling formation marches? I'd be more than willing to be that it's a LOT less loud. Only the Fun Police would really care about something so trivial as this. It happens once a month, and what other type of activity out there can you think of that includes drinking and exercise? Just leave it alone and let us have our fun. We work hard...it's ok to play hard every now and then.

BTW Ryan, hashing is pretty much a group of people that get together for true "fun run" activities. We start at a pub, chase a rabbit around a "course" and then end up at a pub for more fun. But don't tell everyone else or the Fun Police will get us.

Follow the white rabbit.

Re: Hashing in Korea

I don't know about other hashers in the ROK but, the Osan AB hashers have been running around Songtan for at least more than twelve years that I know of. The locals are used to them and some have even joined in the fun in the past.
