Daegu community mourns soldier
He must have died of natural causes. The Army community in Daegu gathered Thursday to honor a soldier who died last week, according to a news release.
Command Sgt. Maj. Wendell Velez, 6th Ordnance Battalion, was 54 when he died June 23, according to a 19th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) news release.
The cause of death is undetermined, pending medical investigation.
