South Korea: An Army of Beauty Queens?

Interesting article. Korean men spending over $100 on beauty products? I love this quote!
A soldier with two months remaining of his service typically gets about W80,000 (US$1=W944) a month. That isn’t nearly enough to meet his cosmetic needs, so soldiers dig into the allowance they get from their families. “I got worried that my skin would get rough and dark after I joined the army. If I want to meet my girlfriend during the vacation, I have to take care of my appearance,” says one soldier. “It’s not just me. Most people here use at least two or three specialized cosmetics for their skin.”

Is the South Korean Army getting too soft?

Cool Re: South Korea: An Army of Beauty Queens?

They are learning to become just like Americans. Greasy burgers and fries are helping to rapidly reach that goal. Diabetes is rampant.

We have been briefed when we see an unusual purchase such as this, we should alert a manager or perhaps note the date, time, register #, the persons description and maybe a license number. There are cameras, but without more information, many illegal transactions do take place. If it were me, I would quietly go to the head office and find an American to tell. Get the name of the person you tell.

In different circumstances I probably would, but after reading what happened to that Navy veteran who blew the whistle on weapons' market in Iraq, I doubt I would want my hubby or myself to end up in trouble.

I understand caution, that is understandable.
One could easily be mistaken, as he might have represented the AAFES barber shops, or beauty shops on post, and be authorized the purchase.
I guess I would tell the boss the information, and then quietly exit before any possible fireworks might erupt.
